Iqbal completed his Ph.D. in Medical Sciences from the University of Florida College of Medicine under the supervision of Dr. Daiqing Liao. Previously, he obtained MS in Biotechnology from the Claflin University, SC under the supervision of Drs. Boroujerdi and Chowdhury.
His specific research interest is to investigate the role of altered metabolic states in human diseases, particularly inborn errors of metabolism, metabolic dysfunction in malnourished children, cancer, and host-pathogen interface. This research is tightly integrated with basic, translational, and clinical activities with the goal of discovering biomarker, diagnostic technologies, and suitable interventions. The overarching goal of his research is to integrate multiomics technologies (genomics, transcriptomics, proteomics, metabolomics, and lipidomics) at high-throughput level for comprehensive understanding of molecular reason associated with disease state towards the development of precision medicine in patient care. His favorite hobby is gardening. For more info about his research and CV please visit https://orcid.org/0000-0001-7729-8122.
