Iqbal received his M.S. in Biotechnology from the Claflin University, SC, under the supervision of Dr’s Boroujerdi and Chowdhury, focused on the NMR-based metabolomics study, and Ph.D in Medical Sciences from the University of Florida, under the supervision of Dr. Daiqing Liao, focused on the novel role of DAXX protein in cancer metabolism and oncogenesis. Iqbal is currently interested in the altered metabolism that contributes to public health problems including inborn errors of metabolism (lead to severe acute children malnutrition) and cancer. Specifically in cancer, he is interested in understanding the metabolic liabilities in tumorigenesis process with the goal of developing new targeted therapeutics.
